CBA LISTSERVER INSTRUCTIONS

 

By using CBA’s listserver, you agree that you have read and will follow the guidelines set for this discussion group.  The purpose of this valuable resource is to provide an open forum for the posting of questions and discussion of news, ideas, and information.

 

As with any community, there are guidelines governing behavior on the listservers.  Please take a moment to acquaint yourself with these important guidelines.  If you have questions, contact Deanna Bright at dbright@ahint.com   CBA reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership on this list for members who violate these rules.

 

SENDING A MESSAGE

 

·         Post a message to the membership by sending an e-mail to CBA@list.ChurchBenefitsAssociation.org

·         State concisely and clearly the specific topic in the subject line.  This allows members to respond more appropriately to your posting and makes it easier for members to search the archives by subject.

·         Keep messages as short as possible and break up long attachments and transmit them separately.

·         Do not use client names or other identifying information in your e-mail.  Use standard rules for protecting client confidentiality.

·         Include a signature tag on all messages.  Include your name, affiliation, location, and e-mail address.

 

REPLYING TO A MESSAGE

 

·         Use the reply button in your e-mail application to automatically send your response to the entire list.  To reply directly to a member of the list, forward the e-mail and copy and paste his or her e-mail address into the “To” line.

·         Only send a message to the entire list when it contains information that will be beneficial to everyone.

·         Include only the relevant portions of the original message in your reply, delete any footer information, and put your response before the original posting.

·         Do not use client names or other identifying information in your reply.  Use standard rules for protecting client confidentiality.

·         Include a signature tag on all messages.  Include your name, affiliation, location, and e-mail address.

 

LISTSERVER GUIDELINES

 

·         Do not challenge or attack others.  The discussions on the lists are meant to stimulate conversation not to create contention.  Let others have their say, just as you may.

·         Do not post commercial messages.  The cyberspace term for this is spamming.

·         All defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive, or illegal materials are strictly prohibited.  Do not post anything in a message that you would not want the world to see or that you would not want anyone to know came from you.

·         Each message should be suitable for this site and constructive as to content.

·         Always remember that your responses to questions or inquiries are posted to all members.  Therefore you should respond in a professional, business like manner.

·         The exchange of jokes, chain letters, sports pools or other gambling activities, as well as uncomplimentary or unproductive information regarding elected officials, employees, colleagues, etc., is considered an inappropriate us of this Listserver.
