This is the right path if your program concept is developed, your leadership is aligned, and you are prepared to meet the matching funds requirement as it applies to your organization. Selected organizations will receive funds in January 2027. (Organizations that need more time may instead apply in August 2027, with funds available in January 2028.)
Planning Grant Opportunities: Planning Grant or Planning Grant PlusEligibility: CBA Member Organizations who are not applying for a Full Scale Denominational Grant in 2026 are eligible to apply for a Planning Grant or Planning Grant Plus. Organizations may apply for both a Be Still and Know Grant as well as a Planning Grant or Planning Grant Plus. Planning Grant - $20,000: Choose this option if your organization intends to apply for a full grant but needs more time to confirm matching funds, refine the program design, or strengthen the proposal. Planning grant funds will be available by January 30, 2027. Organizations receiving a planning grant may apply for a Full-Scale Denominational Grant and/or a Be Still and Know Grant in August 2027. Planning grants do not require matching funds. Planning Grant Plus - $25,000: Choose this option if your organization needs both planning funds and guided support to design a clergy wellness program. This path is best for organizations that would benefit from a structured design process and can send 2–3 representatives to the CBA-sponsored Grant Design Sprint on February 24–26, 2027.
